Sauk Valley Newspapers has a full-time opening for a Marketing/Events Coordinator. Working in collaboration with the Advertising Director, the coordinator conducts numerous community events including, but not limited to a Bridal Fair, Senior Fair, Job Fair, Home Show, Ladies’ Night Out, and Cooking School, plus at least one new event each year. Occasional night and weekend work is required.

The Marketing/Events Coordinator is responsible for the planning, pre-publicity, sponsorships, solicitation and contracting of vendors for these events, plus all other details involved in providing a quality show for the public and for the participating vendors.

The Marketing/Events Coordinator is also responsible for: maintaining and updating databases used for direct mail purposes, marketing campaigns for individual departments at the newspaper, house ads and marketing campaigns to promote the newspapers' many products and services, participation in local community parades and events, along with being very involved in communities served by Sauk Valley Newspapers

Requirements for the position include excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail and the ability to work with all departments within the newspaper. Knowledge of Quark Xpress, Photoshop and Apple computer software is needed. A bachelor’s degree in marketing or communications or equivalent experience is preferred. Previous marketing experience is a plus.

The successful candidate must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and insurance, reliable transportation and an acceptable motor vehicle record.
