The award winning Morris Daily Herald has an immediate opening for a creative individual to design pages. Position will design both news and sports pages.

The person we are looking for will:

- have experience in composing visually appealing and reader-friendly pages in broadsheet, tabloid, and magazine formats. 

- have ability to present the written word, photographs, info boxes and other art elements in the most effective way possible.

- have demonstrated ability to work under deadline pressure.

- have strong copy-editing skills including a knowledge of AP style.

- be skilled at using InDesign and PhotoShop.

- have ability to crop and format visually appealing photographs taken by others.

- be able to work independently on projects and complete them within a prescribed time.

- be able to work within a creative team setting and participate in story/section planning sessions.

- be available to work primarily afternoon and evening hours.

- have experience uploading content to the web.

- have ability to write captivating headlines to capture readers' attention and lure them into the stories.
